Graduate App Requirements

ALL Graduate applications are online and must be completed through the OSU Graduate College’s website. Application materials are now submitted electronically directly to the Graduate College, no materials will need to be sent to the School of Geology.

Deadline for submission of all application materials is:

Fall - February 1st (Ex: Fall 2015 applications would be due February 1, 2015)

Spring - October 1st (Ex: Spring 2016 applications would be due October 1, 2015)

Application Requirements:
     Three Letters of Recommendation   
     Statement of Purpose
     Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
     All person’s for whom English is a second language must submit a passing TOEFL or IETLS score. A minimum TOEFL score of 79 (internet-based test) or 550 (paper-based test) or an IETLS score of 6.5 is required. Refer to the OSU Graduate College website for exemptions to this rule.

It is very important that all potential graduate students have a faculty member willing to advise them during their graduate career. We suggest that all potential master’s or doctorate applicants contact a professor or professors who have research in the area of study they are interested in pursuing.
